            FXTM applies a commission only on the Advantage account type. This commission is the same for both Advantage MT4 and MT5 accounts, but there's a small difference in how it's charged. For Advantage MT4, the full commission for opening and closing a trade is applied when the trade is opened. On Advantage MT5, half the commission is applied when you open the trade, and the other half when you close it. In this article, we will cover the following:

            Trading Commission Overview

            • Forex (FX) Currency Pairs

            • Spot Metals
            • Charged at $25 per million in notional value traded.
            • Indices CFDs & Commodity CFDs

            • ETF CFDs (available only on MT5)
            • Charged at $0.01 per side per lot traded.
            • Stocks (Cash Equities)
            • No commission is charged.

            Note

            For ETF and Stock CFDs on the Advantage MT5 platform, the minimum commission is $0.01.

            Do you charge a commission on stock trading?

            FXTM provides US stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. Clients can choose to trade US stocks on the Stock MT5 account, which is commission-free. The fees a client may incur include dividend tax and a fee for accessing live stock pricing, both of which are not set by FXTM.

            How to calculate commission for different instruments on Advantage MT4 account?

            For MT4 accounts, commission is applied once for both opening and closing trades. Therefore, you only need to know the opening price to calculate the commission. Let's go ahead and explore further examples.

            Commission for Advantage MT4 = (Open Price x Lots (vol) X Contract Size) X 2 X Commission / 1,000,000

            FX Currency Pairs

            For currency pairs, commission is fixed at $ 3.5 per lot traded. For example, if you open 2.5 lot of EURUSD for 1.0772: Commission = 2.5 (lot) * 3.5 (commission) * 2 (round turn) = $17.5

            In another example, if you open 0.6 lots of EURUSD for 1.0772, the commission will be calculated as follows: Commission = 0.6 (lot) * 3.5 (commission) * 2 (round turn) = $ 4.2

            Spot Metals

            Spot Metals Commission is charged at $25 per million notional value traded. To calculate use the following formula.

            For example, if you open 1 lot of XAUUSD for $ 2274, Commission = (2274 (open price) * 1 (lot) * 100 (Contract Size))* 25 (commission) * 2 (round turn) / 1`000`000 = $ 11.38

            Indices

            If you open 1 lot of US500 for $ 5202,

            • Commission = (5202(open price) * 1 (lot) * 1 (Contract Size))* 35 (commission) * 2 (round turn) / 1`000`000 = $ 0.36

            How to calculate commission for different instruments on Advantage MT5 account?

            In MT5 accounts, a commission is charged twice: once upon opening a trade and again when closing it. To calculate the commission on an MT5 account, you need to be aware of both the opening and closing prices.

            Commission for Advantage MT5 = ((Open Price x Lots (vol) x Contract Size) X Commission / 1,000,000) + ((Closing Price x Lots (vol) X Contract Size) x Commission /1,000,000)

            FX Currency Pairs

            For Currency Pairs, the commission is fixed at $ 3.5 per lot traded.

            If you open 1 lot of EURUSD for 1.077, Commission = 1 (lot) * 3.5 (commission) * 2 (round turn) = $7

            If you open 0.6 lots of EURUSD for 1.0772, Commission = 0.6 (lot) * 3.5 (commission) * 2 (round turn) = $4.2

            Spot Metals

            Spot Metals Commission is charged at $25 per million notional value traded. To calculate use the following formula.

            Let's take a look at the example, if you open 1 lot of XAUUSD for $ 2274, and then close your order at the XAUUSD price of $ 2350 commission calculation will look as follows:

            Commission = (2274 * 1 * 100 * 25 / 1`000`000) + (2350 * 1 * 100 * 25 / 1`000`000)= $ 11.57

            Indices

            Commission for Indices is charged at $35 per million notional value traded. To calculate use the following formula. If you open 1 lot of US500 for $ 5202 , and then close your order at the US500 price of $ 5400, the commission calculation will look as follows:

            Commission = (5202 * 1 * 1 * 35 / 1`000`000) + (5400 * 1 * 1 * 35 / 1`000`000)= $ 0.37

            Stocks CFD

            Commission for Stocks is charged at $0.02 per side/lot (1 share = 1 lot) on Stock CFDs. If you open 1 lot of GOOGLE for $154.3, and close price with $156.6, then commission will be:

            Commission = (1 * $ 0.02) + (1* $ 0.02) = $ 0.04
